Yeah, I did Bridgeport in 1975. Had a good time except for the hike up the mountain from the base camp. I was not a grunt, but was attached to an infantry company for the week of climbing, rappelling, zip lines, and other mountain type training . The hike was rough even though I thought I was in good shape. I just wasn't in "grunt shape." I managed to keep up. The company commander was a mad man. He was continually running up and down the entire line of his company making sure everyone was keeping up.

We were still using the old M-1941 pack system then, and we had to carry field transport packs.

I did my mountain training in the Ashaw in 68. They also included live fire exercises.
