    What Are You Listening To?

I was browsing through the forum tonight and realized we don't have a thread covering what songs we're currently listening to. I know that I tend to listen to certain songs or playlists for different things/activities. Other times, I find a new song or a new cover and get hooked on it for several days at a time.

I thought we could use this thread to share whatever songs, bands/artists, or albums that we're currently enjoying or jamming to.

To get us started, I offer two tunes.

The first is Disturbed's recent cover of Simon and Garfunkel's The Sound of Silence. I saw they'd done a cover and thought, "Oh, no. They probably butchered it," but I was very pleasantly surprised. I discovered it a few months back, but it had kind of faded out of my listening rotation. A friend of mine on facebook shared a video of them performing it live on Conan, and now it's back in my head.

The second song is one I just discovered a few days ago. It's I Feel A Sin Comin' On by The Pistol Annies. Love the simplicity of it and the harmonies. Good stuff.

So, what are y'all listening to lately?

I will listen to some Disturbed, and a lot of other Christian Rock and contemporary, or 60's 70's music..

Disturbed is an interesting group, some of their songs are Christian based.. like Stratovarius. great music..

A few weeks ago I stumbled across Pokey LaFarge and the South City Three. They mix western swing with original music and add local flavor from St. Louis to New Orleans. Found him on Youtube.

Well, I like to watch and listen to YouTube videos of the Royal Marines Bands and the Guards Household Division regimental bands and corps of drums. Good music and drill. And bagpipes of course. Otherwise, 60s and 70s rock.

Thread moved from " Open Squad Bay " to " Music " sub-forum.

I listen to all musical genres from the roaring 20's to present day, mood congruent of course but my heart and soul belong to the Blues.

One of the greatest bluesman of all times, the late, great Stevie Ray Vaughan. RIP Brother... which of course is playing in the background as I type.
