Throughout 2015, DAV has asked members of our Commander's Action Network to use our email alerts to urge your Congressional members to take action on matters of importance to wounded, ill and injured veterans. You responded overwhelmingly by sending 128,361 electronic letters to Congress. We want you to know how much we appreciate your activism and willingness to support DAV and our national mission of service to veterans. You make a difference in veterans' lives when you answer our calls to action.

In 2016 DAV will be sharply expanding and reinforcing our ability to influence and educate Congress on policies that aid service-disabled veterans, and we need your continued support to help us carry that ever-powerful message. In 2015, dozens of legislative proposals have been introduced in Congress that, if they were enacted into law, would make a difference in the lives of veterans and their families. Some of these bills have been passed by the House, and one omnibus bill has cleared the Senate Committee on Veterans Affairs, but awaits final Senate action. Sadly, as this year ends, none of these important bills has been enacted into law.

DAV will continue our targeted issue campaigns in 2016 dealing with family caregivers of wounded, injured and ill veterans; reforms of the claims appeals system and the VA health care system and, improving VA programs and services for a growing number of women veterans. Through a reinvigorated Benefits Protection Team initiative DAV will be calling on you and other supporters to help us advance these issues and to achieve legislative victories that will confirm their merit. With your support and advocacy DAV will be successful in that quest.

DAV wishes all the best to you and your families as we begin a New Year.
