Several Questions Regarding Reserve Life and MOS 1833

With the big questions of mine being answered, would anyone know where to find more information on 1833 AAV Crewman? I've searched the forums and countless places online but I'm still not completely sure what they're doing in todays day and age.

AAV crewman drive, navigate, and maintain an AAV...they do ship to shore exercises, crew/weapons qualifications, and ALOT of maintenance....AAV's are like tanks, for every hour of use/driving they require like 8 hours of maintenance

And the USMC has decided on the next generation of AAV (think it's wheeled instead of tracked but can't remember). Contracts have been signed. No idea how long it'll take to upgrade the existing inventory to the new model.
