Bad news. After doing a ist wedsnday I had a mild asthma attack and found out I have sports induced asthma. Automatic disqualification. Really brokenhearted right now. But everything happens for a reason I guess. Going deer hunting right now. Thanks for the advice though Marines! For every poolee that has the health to join, be grateful. Never give up and never quit! Happy Thanksgiving!

That's very disappointing to ME, also, and I'm not even the one trying to join up. I see your motivation, dedication etc. Wow, what a blow.

Everyone---take a lesson from post 31. The ability to see things in light of a bigger picture rather than your own disappointments which at the time seem like life or death to you personally. The universe is not all about you/us/me, I guess, is the lesson, and that post is a very powerful one to anyone who needs to be reminded of their place in the grand scheme of things. Very good to read a post like that instead of "this blankety blank Corps, can't even take people with asthma."

I am so sorry to read this Shelby....
I will change your status from " Poolee/DEP " to " Marine Friend " of course and you are always welcome to remain an active member of the Leatherneck Community and post when you feel like it.
Best of luck to you..

Bad luck. But, better to find out now, than at the Recruit Depot and have to go through the medical separation routine like so many do.
