Overly Motivated ?
Hey marines,
how do recruiters and di's handle overly motivated individuals,
say they're incredibly intense at EVERY thing they do ?
support them more, or try harder to break them down ?
Please share a story on your most motivated, pupil, recruit, poolee, etc.

If the person is genuinely intense at everything he or she does, then the DIs love it. No such thing as being TOO motivated. But if it's done to show off, or for some other reason than genuine enthusiasm and effort, they'll see through it and take appropriate "measures" to bring the recruit down a notch or two or three.
In general, giving everything 110% is what the DIs WANT from everyone.

there is a fine line between overly motivated and "motarded"(so motivated it comes off as stupid)
yes DI's will love motivation to certain point, when you start coming off as a recruit that thinks he knows how to do everything and get in other recruits faces then it becomes an issue
any sort of "extra motivation" will be knocked out of you in the fleet by your NCOs, your job as a new boot to the fleet is to lay low, learn your job/place, and do as your told...not act like an idiot and step on others toes'
