    Smcr medal criteria

I'm curious of you can still get the selected marine corps reserves medal with an NJP.

fom my understanding after reading the order it is based on three years of service with attending 90 percent of scheduled drills and training . I did not see anything about conduct marks or NJPs.
so it seems the smcr medal is more if a longetivity medal than a good conduct medal. Before reading the order I always thought it was just the reserves version of the marine corps good conduct medal.
    I could be wrong .

The only guy that I know that wears any medals on his vest was a swabby who was on an aircraft carrier. Go figure.

it is the same criteria as the active duty GCM...3 years of satisfactory service. So technically no with an NJP you do not rate the SMCR medal

    (3) In the case of officers and noncommissioned officers(sergeant or above), the commanding officer (or the Commander,Marine Corps Mobilization Command (MOBCOM) in the case of IMACategory A) is responsible for determining whether theindividual's service and performance of duty warrant the award.Enlisted personnel in the grade of corporal and below must haveobtained a combined average of conduct and proficiency markingsof 4.0 or above for the first three-year period. For subsequentthree-year periods, enlisted personnel must have obtained acombined average of conduct and proficiency markings of 4.5 orabove. When it is evident an individual who otherwise fulfillsthe eligibility criteria is not deserving of this award becauseof a repeated record of valid indebtedness or other acts whichare not in keeping with the high moral standards required of allMarines, the commanding officer (or Commander, MOBCOM in thecase of IMA Category A) will make an appropriate recommendationto CMC (MMMA) stating the reasons.

I copied the above from the Awards Manual. The usamilitarymedals is a commercial website, and I dont think they are including the entire criteria for the medal.
