Teen joining the USMC NEED HELP!

Hello i am 17 (turning 18 this year) and a senior in high school. I am currently in the process of joining the United States Marine Corps, I ve taken my asvab and I ve taken my physical but I failed the eye exam so I had to go to a specialist and get an approval from the eye specialist to continue my paper work. I am currently waiting for my next appointment at meps to finish my paper work. I am interested in joining the Reserves and the job I was looking at is MOS 1142 engineer equipment electrical systems technician. Does anybody have any information about this MOS? what they do?how long is MOS school? anything at all will be really helpful. I ve tried google but there is very little info about it. I scored a 74 on my asvab and i want a MOS that can transfer into a Good paying job outside the military. Also how much does a reservist get paid in? thank you to whoever answers this, any tips or any information about the Corps will be very helpful as I make my decision.

I'm a 1341 (Engineer Equipment mechanic) and we have quite a few 1142's in our shop. The 1142's in our shop work primarily with generators and the motors and electrical units in these generators. They're probably the busiest Marines in the shop behind the 1345 (Engineer equipment operators) and are often working on the generators, doing things like low banking them, attaching them to dummy loads and running them, powering them up, preparing them for the field (whenever we go to the field, there is always generators there since they're the primary power source), troubleshooting them when they have issues, etc. It's a very hands on job and you'll be quite busy much of the time. The school is in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina and its a bit long; upwards of 2 months. I'm not sure exactly how long it is. Reservist get paid per drill weekend; so when you go in for drill, you'll scan your CAC Card and the money will transfer to your account for that weekend. For an E-2 (PFC) with under 2 years TIS (time in service) expect to get paid about $231.00 per drill weekend.
