    Question about utilities

    Good evening/morning, Marines!

I'm a new Devil Dog here and I had a quick question that's been replaying in my head for hours.

I plan to take annual leave around this time next year to go back to Texas. Around this time, shortly after school ends for the kids back home, my home church likes to take trips to play paintball at a DFW Adventure Park. In the event that I get the opportunity to join them next year, I was wondering if I could wear my utilities to play. I googled it earlier and didn't get much on the cammies themselves, but I've heard different things about the boots, mostly saying no-go since the EGA is on the heel. Just wanting to confirm if I can go full Utes to play paintball or not. If I have to remove the name and service tapes, that's definitely doable.

    Many thanks, gentlemen!

Did you learn nothing at boot camp? Go read the order MCO 1020.34G Boots are authorized to be worn out in town but utilities at least as it pertains to you is not authorized. Besides are you trying to highlight yourself as a boot that badly?

You ultimately are going to do whatever you want but as long as you fall under the UCMJ you are not allowed to wear utilites off a military installation.

Does it mention anywhere in there about nametapes being the linchpin of the matter? No it doesnt in all reality the individuals who got out arent supposed to be wearing utilites off of a military installation, but they are now civillians so who is going to stop them?

Alright, good to go. Makes sense. It's actually been a while since I've reviewed the order. My bad. Thanks for the info. Don't need to act a fool out there.

let's be honest here, you've never reviewed the order.....I didn't even know what the order was until I was a Cpl.

And my personal opinion....if you are wearing them strictly at the paint ball park/range/whatever they call it I don't see an issue with it. I wear my desert trousers out shooting in the desert on weekends all the time. Just don't be wearing em around out it town and what not

oh and for gods sake DO NOT blouse them if you do decide to wear em....that'll make you look like the ultimate boot and looking to get yourself on one of the many Facebook pages that shows stupid $hit like that
