What is your MOS ,was your MOS or what are you planning to do as an MOS
Not everyone is a RECON Marine,or a Naval Aviator. I feel that there is so much diversity in the corps that i feel like we should take the time to honor those who are serving or have served, or are currently planning on serving in the world's finest fighting force.
Put your MOS number, your job name and how long you served or whatever you like. hope everyone enjoys this and everyone becomes closer in the community and learns something new, and maybe even become influenced of a new idea or plan for their Marine Corps career.
Semper Fi Marines and God Bless the Marine Corps and America.
I plan on becoming a Naval Aviator in the Marines, I'll be commissioning within the next 4 to 5 years.
BTW: this is part of a survey i am doing for a class in my college

Thanks...I'll find a new topic to cover my survey. ..honestly at first it sounded like a good idea, but now that I look at it, it doesn't matter what MOS any Marine had or how long they've served. A Marine will forever be a Marine first and foremost no matter what they do in the beloved Corps

there's ten tons of MOS information on here on
LEATHERNECK. And over 10 years of MOS Postings.
IF a bunch of us "OLDFARTS" can get it on here.
the least you should be able to do, is look at it..
IF you get stuck on a SPECIFIC mos - ask...
eyeball what's here.
Wannabe's have been comming in here forever....
Use the site search-bar,
Use google or your favorite querry application..
there's tons of stories to go along with each of them...

David B, there's nothing wrong with taking a survey of this kind, you're not asking what MOS are and what specific ones do----your original post just asks for our MOS number, the job's name, and how long we served etc....how can you get this info by doing searches on this site? You can't. You're not asking what an 0311 DOES, you're asking who was one....so...
When I went in we had no choice of MOS, the good old days where we did not plan our every move a year in advance. Our parents were not "helicopter parents" hovering over us day and night.
MOS 2571--Morse Code Intercept Operator, now it's 2621-top secret clearance, best job I ever had, by far---1963 to 1967....PM me anytime.

I quit high school to join the USMC, they did not require a diploma plus 15 college credits. 12 years after the Corps I received a direct commission into the USAF as a JAG officer, Captain, for 3 years, see my profile description etc.

Marines and all who have posted, thank you for the information. please do continue with the postings, as every bit of information helps. My professor is a retired Marine himself( served as a Linguist, from 84-05, now a retired Lt. Col, who decided to begin teaching US History about 4 years ago) He loves the idea of the survey, saying how it displays the diversity of the Marine Corps, and how each job, no matter what branch of the Marine Corps it falls into, is a key importance into learning from the Marine Corp's History and shaping the Marine Corp's future.
Thank you all who have served, are serving, or are planning to take the step of serving.
