    Pennsylvania Cop Killer Captured

The man who evaded capture for more than six weeks after allegedly killing a Pennsylvania state trooper and wounding another has been arrested.

Eric Frein was taken into custody Thursday, Pennsylvania State Police told CBS News. Details of the arrest were not released.

Frein, 31, is charged with opening fire outside the Blooming Grove state police barracks on Sept. 12, killing Trooper Bryon Dickson and seriously wounding Trooper Alex Douglass.

Multiple sightings of Frein were reported over the course of the 48-day manhunt in the Pocono Mountains. Hundreds of law enforcement officers searched for the suspect in rural areas near his parents' home in Canadensis.

State police have said they believe Frein, a self-taught survivalist, has a hatred of law enforcement and wanted to target police, not the general public.

The ambush attack landed Frein on the FBI's most wanted list, and police were authorized to use deadly force.

Pretty big chunk of change. Seems like it took forever for them to find this guy. With all this tech available to law enforcement these days this is amazing.

a shame he was captured and not killed, now the taxpayers will need to fork over big bucks for the trial, his attorneys, and of course, to feed, clothe, medicate and house him for the next 30 years (even if he gets the death penalty, it usually takes between 20 and 30 years before the sentence is carried out)... and a death sentence is very "iffy" in the ultra liberal north east states, it's just "too inhumane".....
