Disqualification help
Hi, I'm Melissa.
A couple weeks ago my recruiter called me and told me that I was disqualified because in my medical records it said that when I was twelve (I'm 18 now) my pediatrician wrote down that I had depression. She (my doctor) never told me or my parents this.
Is there anything I can do to be able to become a marine? I never did MEPS by the way.

Hi Melissa---a squad leader will move this to Ask A Marine section, and the younger folks will be able to answer your questions or at least give you some info.

How did your recruiter find out about your depression, in detail? Since you weren't sent to the Navy Docs who would disqualify you at MEPS it may simply be that recruiter turning you away. It might be as simple as going to another recruiter who will work with you. However you should take a deep look into why that Marine thought you were unfit to be a Marine.

Good idea, talk to some other recruiter, and update us on this thread.
