Can i retake the ASVAB?

I scored a 48 on my asvab(horrible). My GT score is 99 and for the mos i want(mp) i need a 100. Im 100% sure i can do a lot better if i can retake the ASVAB. My question is can i retake it? My recruiter says i can not retake it. Is he lieing? Im in the delayed entry program. I dont ship until July 6th.
