    Home Exercises for IST/PFT Performance?

    Good morning, gentlemen.

This poolee is scheduled to ship to MCRDPI in one month and four days, 20141020. This poolee's IST is passing, but barely. This poolee can perform around five pull-ups, fifty crunches and barely pass the 1.5 mile run with a time of about 13:00. This poolee does not want to be the most disgusting piece of **** in his platoon that gets everyone else in trouble constantly, and wants to get in the best shape possible in the next month. If needed, this poolee could purchase a gym membership but would prefer things that are easy to do at home, as the nearest gyms are a ways away.

    Stats:
    6'0"
    155 lbs.
    5 Pull-ups
    50 Crunches
    13:00 Run

Thank you in advance for any help,

    Poolee Moncrief.

Your recruiter should have given you a silver tin Marines box when you swore in, in there is a booklet of workouts for you. If you don't have it ask for it.
Its pretty simply though start running a lot more, doing pull/push/sit ups a lot more and you'll see you IST scores go up.

Stop referring yourself in the third person, we don't do that around these forums.

I'm currently 6'0" and 153lbs and have an IST of 15 Pull-Ups, 140 Crunches, 9:50 Run. I can tell you from experience there are no "secrets" to a better IST, you just need to get out and exercise. Go for 3+ mile runs and incorporate sprints, buy a pull-up bar and do pull-ups, do crunches and push-ups. It's simple, don't make it more complicated then it has to be.
