Arm sugery and joinning the Marines.

Hello my name is Tyler and I am 16 years old. This is my first post, so I would like to say sorry in advance if I did something wrong. My question is, I have recently had UCL Reconstruction Surgery (Tommy John's). I would like to join the Marines after high school and would like to know if this will disqualify me from joining. I have full range of motion again and can use my arm as good as I could before my surgery. Any response or help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

    Tyler..
You saying "Sorry" for not knowing IF you've
done something wrong is "perfectly fine"
with us. It isn't common for us to use the word

What we will do, is give you a Beating now -
"Just in case we can't find what you've done
    wrong..

You've gotten your question in the correct location.
That's why this forum thread is titled "Ask a Marine"

Do what your doctors have ordered to recover with
    your UCL .

Somebody willprobibly come along with an answer.
    WE aren't Doctors.

    Call a Marine Recruiter,,,
    even if you're 16.
    slip the question in,
saying you'd like a list of exercises to prepair you
    for boot camp ?????

If you can use it as good as before the surgery. Why did you have the surgery? Look for a member by the name of Hulbek...he is an active duty recruiter and might be able to give you some insight....PM him....

Phantom Blooper, when I said I can use it as good as before my surgery I meant before I tore my ligament. That is bad communication on my part. I should have explained that more.

I don't see a problem with it. You should be able to get that cleared through medical. Follow doctors orders, and finish the rehad to everything heals up correctly.
