Motor T VS Avionics
Good evening Marines, I've been in DEP for almost a year now and I graduate from high school next year. My current MOS is motor transport in which I don't know if I will be a mechanic or operator. My recruiter told me yesterday that the BA option opened which covers mos 59xx 63xx 64xx 66xx which is mostly avionics and the Marines will choose a job for me. My goal was to be MP, security forces, infantry or firefighter but none of this jobs have opened. which of this 2 mos should I choose? I want a career in the Marine Corps and I want to see be in combat and see the world. But most importantly I want to be a Marine. PLEASE HELP

You can only be in the DEP for 365 days then you get dropped. You cannot be in the DEP and graduate next year. This makes no sense ?

I meant I graduate next week not next year.

Now that makes sense. Figure out what you like. Everyone here is going to have a differant opinion.
You have the final say.

Take the avionics job. That is my official position as a recruiter. Your recruiter is hooking you up. Lots of opportunities if you only do 5 years, lots of technical experience.

For Motor T you can either be an OP or a Mech so you are either going to be a mechanic or a glorified chauffeur.
