Post Suggestions on the MOS for a female?

    Hello,
I am a 24 year old female and was hoping I could get some suggestions on an exciting MOS. It is my understanding that I will be able to choose an MOS field and then will be given my exact job after bootcamp. Is that correct? I'm just hoping to hear suggestions on some MOSs that others found exciting and are open to women. Thanks.

What do you like to do? I dont think it matters if you are male or female with the obvious exception from Combat Arms MOS.

If you like photography, motion picture and journalism, and interested in being with a combat unit, consider public affairs (4300) or combat photographer (4600). This occupation can literally involve you in land, sea and air assignments; allow you freedom to choose news assignments and really experience the Corps few can do. There are a number of females in this field. If you are interested I can refer you to Marine photojournalists willing to speak to you. Many of us have found our way into civilian life as motion picture producers, directors, (Oscar), camera, broadcast and print journalists, novelists (Pulitzer Prize) recepients. I hasten to add, not easy to get in but if you do, great way to be part of the Corps, from meeting the Commandant to sharing MREs with the grunts. Good luck.
