Combat Engineer
Hi, I'm new to this forum but have been reading post on here all the time. I'm interested in joining the Marine Corps as a combat engineer but because I am a junior I have to wait till June to go meet with my recruiter. My question is, is it possible to get a combat engineer contract, if so how hard is it to get this contract, if not do I have to sign a 13xx contract and hope I get 1371? Thanks!

yes, you have to sign a 13xx contract....you could end up as a 1391, 1341, 1345, 1316, 1371....who knows?
many guys who joined around the same time i did who went in as 13xx contracts ended up as 1345's(heavy equipment operator) or 1391's(bulk fuel specialist) like myself...both of this MOS' are very versatile and universal

Being a 1391 BulkFuel Man, was very interesting for Me. But as they say 'You get out of the Corps what You put in to it' So what ever Job You get just put Your all in to it. As My Son is finding out at MOS School right now. Best of luck to You.
