This wanna be Needs information on excercises that will help with pull ups

    Alright Marines,

I have recently cut 60 lbs, went from 286 to 228 lbs, which is slightly below the cut for Enlistment. I went to the recruiters office, Did my mile and a half in 10:28, and surpassed the sit-up requirements. what excercises can I do to help with pull ups? It's the only thing holding me back from full enlistment. Any tips at all would be helpfull.

    Thanks!

Congratulations on the weight loss! You are obviously motivated.

Obviously, pull-ups is a test of upper body strength. So, anything that can build arm/shoulder/chest/back (upper body) muscle is what you should be focusing on. Pushups, curls, pushing a tractor tire around (they have one of those in the parking lot at the local recruiting station) all work. Use your imagination. But, be smart and don't overdo it (an injury will just set you back).

Let us know when you ship.

    Job well done so far.
Keep pushing forward but know your limits and take breaks.

    Best of luck to you.
