    WWI Wounded Chevron and Ribbon

I am putting a display of awards together for my uncle who served in WWI and was wounded in France. He received a Wounded Chevron to be worn on the sleeve,(looks like a PFC stripe upside down). He also received a wounded ribbon and upon discharge a sterling silver pin. All others received the same dischrge pin but in bronze. What I am looking for is the ribbon. I tried Medals of America but no luck there. Any suggestions? I'm not refering to the Purple Heart ribbon, this is a WWI era ribbon that is Red with a wide White strips in the middle. I can post a pic if I knew how.
    Thanks
    Ed Nichols

A quick update to this is that I just found out that the wound ribbon I was asking about was issued for a "VERY" short time, from Sept 6, 1917 to Oct 12, 1917, (less than 2 months). Since my Uncle was wounded on July 16, 1918 in France, he would not have received the ribbon, just the chevron. (he was later given the Purple Heart some time in the 1930's). Also on discharge from the Army, he received a Sterling Silver pin, (wounded), as opposed to a Bronze pin, (Non wounded).

I searched on Google "WW1 Wound stripe & Ribbon" and up popped the page from Wikipedia. Just hope it's on the money.

I did the same thing and I found that a lot of allies from WWI had the same or very close design to their ribbons & Medals.
