    Boot Camp was tough in that era. But our DI's knew we
    were all going to Vietnam.They were the best,everyone
    in the platoon got knocked around and left blood on the Island and in the end, we were Marines.

    Graduated Honor Man platoon 1005, stayed first squad leader throughout boot camp. Loved the whole adventure. Volunteered for the Drill Field. DI from 86 - 88 2nd BN "D" Co.

    Joined at RMB Deal, Kent, United Kingdom, 3 July 1973.
    After three weeks moved to CTCRM (Commando Training Centre Royal Marines) Lympstone, Devon, United Kingdom.

    Passed out Feb 1974 and went to 40CDORM based at Seaton Barracks, Plymouth, Devon, United Kingdom.

    Royal Marines Training is these days 32 weeks.

    Joined 7/28/52 in New Orleans.Arrived in Diego about 8/1/52.
    Don't remember Plt. #. (Honor Plt.) Sgt/ Lewis, Pusley and Oots
    was our demanding DI's.(spelling may not be correct) It was hell but we learned a lot and survived. Most of the men went to
    Korea and didn't come back. I stayed stateside (see profile)
