Marine Reservists and boot camp
Hello Marines,
I understand the training for active duty and reservists is the same during boot camp, but do Marine reservists have to wait the same amount of time to leave to boot camp as do the guys who want to go active? I thought I read somewhere that Reservists are higher priority to send off because they cost the military more money to keep them around...(I don't know)
Thanks,
Ryan

typically there is a shorter wait to go to boot camp if you are to be a reservist being that there is already a seat waiting for you and open at the unit you get contracted to.
And yes you are right about the money issues. It is cheaper for the Corps/DOD to push them through, out, and into reserve status then keep them on active duty.
