All parents should go the Wednesday before famliy day

My son graduated last Friday. We went to the base on Wednesday for a family orientation. We did not think of this in advance, but all of the graduating platoons are practicing for the graduation on and around the parade deck. We got to see our son and make eye contact from only a few feet away. In our case, the company commander singled out our son, in a good way, and put his arms around our son so we could get a picture. He also ordered our son to remove his cover so we could see his bald head and laugh at him. Was fantastic for us to see him smile. So for those who have been waiting 3 months to see your son, show up the wednesday before graduation and hang out around the all weather center and parade deck.

Couldn't agree more. Did the same when our Son was graduating April 2010. It is well worth it to "miss that extra day of work" that many of us think we just can't do. No, it's or Sons..or Daughters that have taken a leap of faith and growth many will never know that is the most important thing we can do those days. Good luck to your Son.
