    R. I. P. Marine!

    Frank Beard, Jr., 83, passed away on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 with his family by his side.

    He was born November 26, 1928 in Louisville, KY to the late Dr. Frank Beard Hower, Sr. and Katharine Coffman Hower. He graduated from Male High School in Louisville, KY in 1946 and Centre College in Danville, KY in 1950. He proudly served as a Major in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. Following his military service, he worked at Liberty National Bank and Trust Company (then Liberty National Bancorp, Inc.) for 40 years--17 of which he served as CEO and Chairman of the Board.
