    Navy Corpsman

    Hello to all my brothers.

I graduated Hospital Corpsman A School at Balboa Naval Hosp. in 1969. From there I got orders to F.M.S. Camp Pendelton, where I earned my Greens. I remember Gunny Roach telling me "Them Greens Aint Issued Doc, They're Earned." I was with 3rd Marine Recon for only 2 weeks when I caught some shrapnel and was shipped back to San Diego. I was ultimatly discharged with 10% service connected disability.

My Grandaughter gave me a jacket with Corp. emblem on the back. When I earned my Greens, did I also earn the Eagle Globe and Anchor? I would wear it proudly, but dont want to offend.

No,you did not earn the EGA.But I don't think any Marine would have a problem with a combat HM wearing the EGA on a coat or hat, etc.

Thank you for your Service and Sacrifice.

This Marine doesn't have a problem with you wearing it.

Thanks Rocky. Rest assured that I will wear it with pride, and will do nothing that would besmirch the emblem.

When you wear the EGA wear it with the pride of a Marine. Remember what it stands for:

The army gave us the Eagle
The navy gave us the Anchor
    and WE took the World

    Nam 68-9, 3/5 Marines

    Thanks Doc Wilder.

Doc.Charfan9,you caught some shrapnel after only weeks. Well I don't think there's one grunt or any Marines, for that matter would have a problem with you wearing the EGA. Corpsmans or like Marines, people get WIA or KIA in combat.

    S/F Doc.

    Redclyde!

Thanks Redclyde. I DO wear it with pride.
