Firefighter

My son Jeremy Mathis was promoted to Lt. in the City of Covington, Ga. Fire Dept.He has been with them for almost 10 years and has worked his way up to this leadership position. He will be officially a Lt. 44years from the day his Dad joined the Corps on 2 Sept.1969.
Needless to say I am one very proud Dad.

Firefighting is an amazing career field. I was a Firefighter for three years after I discharged from the Corps. If I did not love my current job so much I really would not mind going back to that field.

Coming from a Marine with little Fire Service experience.. It is tremendous work and effort to pick up a company grade position within the Fire Community. You should be extremely proud of him.

I know my son didn't follow me into the Marine Corps but he has served his city and state and country well in his job ,that a lot of people would never do.
