First pft?

Hello Marines,
I have a few questions, when does your first official pft count? How many do you do in a year? And also do you improve your unofficial pft score in boot camp? Like faster running and more pull ups . Thanks!

There is no such thing as an unofficial PFT. Whenever you run the PFT it is official and for score which is recorded in your training record. Your score will affect your prospects for promotion so it's always important to do your best.

You have to run/pass the PFT every six months. This requirement can be waived in special circusmstances such as combat, deployed aboard a ship, etc.

Not sure about the requirements for the CFT as that came about after I retired (I'm glad too).
