    As other ships of the invasion force fill the horizon, landing ships pour materials ashore at an inlet on Okinawa on April 1, 1945, in the tranquil beginning of what was to become the bloodiest battle of the Pacific during Warld War II.

    Love-day: The horizon was hidden by ships as far as the eye could see.
