Aircraft Maintenance Admin Specialist. I just DEP'd in today and this is the job I got. Can anyone tell me anything they know about how it really is? Thanks.

You will be keeping track of aircraft record books. You will schedule preflight and post flight inspections, periodic maintenance inspections, write and approve MAFS,keep track of engine hours and flight hours for aircraft,etc. Meridian, MS is where you will go to your MOS school after you are done with MCT. Its a very detail oriented job. You may end up working in Production Control or QA.

Good job, was my MOS in the Corps! Sometimes can be frustrating but a good job....a nice office job.....warm in the winter, cool in the summer!

As a 6046. My son was told he will most likely be stationed on NAS. Would he be deployed?

not sure what NAS is but there is a possibility he might get deployed as much as any i guess. but probably not.

NAS = Naval Air Station (like Miramar, CA).

If your son's squadron gets deployed, he will deploy with it.

Excuse me for asking a simple freaking question. I did use common sense because I did read that dates on this post. I did a freaking search for this MOS number 6046 and this is what it came up with. I guess you didn't use common sense because you didn't know what NAS was. Let me teach you what NAS stands for. It stand for Naval Air Station.
