Hey Marines. I am thinking about choosing METOC as my MOS. I love science and thought about getting a biology degree anyways. I have read through some other posts that answered a lot about the MOS but I have a few additional questions.

1. what kind of science training do you do? Is it all specifically meteorology or do you get to learn a lot of other subjects in earth sciences?

2. Is it basically all sit on a computer type work? Do you ever get to be out in the field researching? or is it basically all data collection on the computer?

3. How easy is it to gain promotions in this MOS?

4. Do you have enough time to work out on your own? Would you have time/freedom to say tryout of recon later? Or would they probably not let you because of your MOS?

Thanks so much for you're help in building my road map here!

Also I was wondering- The program choice for this option has the 0500 field as well (MAGTF) What are the chances of getting into that vs METOC?
