When I first got out my wife was the one wanting to throw a dart at a map and just see where we landed. After being deployed so much I was ready to go home though so we did. We're both from the same hometown and both are familes are here. Funny thing is I would kinda like to move to another part of the country now, but now we have kids and she is super close to her family so I couldn't drag her away from here.

When I was up for re-enlistment (offered E-5, pick any MOS, and Choice of Duty station for 3 years) at Camp LeJeune my wife said if I re-upped she would go home without me and I would do my next four alone. Even though I was considering Hawaii for three years. So I got out and moved back to South Dakota. Within two years I was divorced and wishing I had re-enlisted. But pretty much stayed in South Dakota since. Spent some time in Iowa, Washington (state), and Kansas. But always ended up back on the frozen tundra. LOL

Enlisted while living in Wrenshall Minnesota, got out in California and came here to northern Illinois. I've only been back "home" to visit. To darn cold in northern Minnesota for me!!!

Born in NC, lived most of my life in OH and left for boot when I was 17.
Stationed in VA Beach for entire enlistment, came back to OH and am stuck here in my dead end job! glorious!

Born, raised and enlisted from Maryland, which wasn't so socialist back then. After getting out, lived in SC for a while, came back, moved all over the place, eventually wound up right back on the family farm that we've owned since the 1700's. None of my kids were born here, only my son considers the home place 'home', which is, I guess, a good thing.
I'll be buried in the hometown cemetery with the rest of the ancestors I suppose LOL.
