Military Mail Censorship Research Question
I am researching a possible thesis for an essay I am writing and after 4 hours of database searching I am unable to come up with an answer. Does anyone recall, or have a document showing when DoD policy stopped censoring outgoing mail in War Zones and why?

Mail stopped being censored after WWII. Likely as not, buried someplace in the War Department files, is a circular, order, general order, or something along those lines, that states that. I dread to think how you'd go about finding it, but that would be where I would start.
