going to meps vs. going to work

iv been working with my recruiter for few months now. i had to do a lot of paper work just to be able to join and now all the paper work is done and im waiting to go to meps, but my recruiter has told me twice that we would be going to meps on wehatever date but when that day comes he cancels i have a full time job and everytime he says were going to meps i have to miss work for that day and im getting in trouble for it. i want to be a marine more then anything but i also have bills that need to get paid . what should i do?
