Enlisted intelligence mos
Im a Poole right now in Texas and I have the intelligence mos since July. As of lately my recruiter has been trying to urge me to switch out of it saying I won't like it and I should do something else. Since they say they don't see me doing it. I Picked intell since it seems like a job that would be good into civilian life. As of lately they have me thinking that what I picked is a bad choice. My question is what is it you will be doing. Cuz my recruiter says all you do is make maps. What other jobs out there transfer out into civilan life.

Well Geographic Intel Specialist is one of a handful of MOS that you could be assigned as a result of choosing the Intel field. I would recommend that you stick with it. Regardless of the MOS that you get, it will only be as good as you want it to be. You have to make the most out of your enlistment. Unless your recruiter is Intel, he will not know what he is really talking about.
Also, fill out your profile completely.

Tell your recruiter he's full of crap. Ok, don't really tell him that...but I can assure you that you will do more than make maps, even if you end up as a topography Marine. You will also learn a valuable skill that transfers well to the civilian world. It's likely he wants you to change MOS's so he can ship you out sooner and make his quota.
