    Semper Fi, Richie

    Richard G. Pinchoff
    January 13, 1982 – April 9, 2011

Richie died Saturday April 9, 2011. He was born on January 13, 1982 in Monroe and was the son of Gary D. and Mary K. (Parriet) Pinchoff. He graduated in 2000 from Monroe High School where he was active in the ROTC Program with a strong desire to be in the military. Upon graduation he joined the US Marine Corp. following in his parent’s footsteps both of whom served in the US Army; his grandfather was a Marine, and his other grandfather was in the Army. Richie served in Okinawa from 2000 to 2008.

Growing up he had a strong commitment to his church where he served as an Altar Boy, Lay Minister and Lector. He loved his dogs and puttering in his yard. He enjoyed going to the firing range with his brother, and was an avid scuba diver.
He was a dedicated, self driven, kind and compassionate son, and friend to all who knew him. He was employed by Allied Burton Security at the Fermi Plant in Newport for two years.
Richie leaves to cherish his memory his parents, brother Grant and future sister-in-law Whitney, and soon to be born nephew, and his sister Kathryn (Zack) Epaminonda all of Monroe; stepsister Sharon Egbert of Ohio; grandmother Dorothy Parriet of Monroe; also his girlfriend Laura Young, and his best friend Nick Goins. He just purchased a home which he shared with his good friend Steve Reynolds.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Richard and Norma Pinchoff, and his grandfather, Earl Parriet.

As you can see, our fellow Marine and my very good friend was murdered earlier in the spring by a drunk driver going the wrong way on a Michigan highway. The man was released on bail (only paid 1000$) and has fled the state to his own home State of Virginia. The man who took Richie from us has already stated publicly that he will not return to Michigan to stand trial for what he did to Richie and his family. As of this date he still has not returned. We all love and miss Richie (Dick to his friends at work) very much and wish peace for his family and loved ones.

VAN BUREN TWP. — A motorist driving the wrong way on I-275 has been charged by the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office with second-degree murder in a crash that killed a 28-year-old Taylor man early Saturday.

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy also has charged Jerod Davidson, 36, of West Virginia with operating while intoxicated causing death, reckless driving causing death and operating while intoxicated second offense.

Worthy said an arraignment on the charges was set for yesterday afternoon in 34th District Court in Romulus.

Richard Pinchoff was killed when the vehicle being driven by Davidson hit his car.

Michigan State Police said Davidson was driving a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee north in the southbound lanes near Tyler Road at about 1:20 a.m. and struck Pinchoff’s 2001 Pontiac Grand Am, killing him.

Davidson was taken to the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor. His injuries were not life-threatening.

Anyone with information on the crash is asked to call the state police Metro South Post at 1-734-287-5000.

Ah, Wayne County courts strike again. The bad part is the prosecutor's office probably won't extradite because of budget problems.

So basically this man got off a murder charge for a thousand bucks. Not only that but he didnt spend ONE SECOND in jail. He went straight from the hospital to the court room and then right home to Virginia. This was his third crash while drunk and the second time he has injured someone in a drunk driving accident.

Well, he hasn't "gotten off." Warrants for his arrest are undoubtedly out. He's facing 15-year felonies, so who knows, maybe he will get extradited if Virginia police arrest him. Technically they qualify as extraditable.

This is assuming his warrants were coded as extraditable when entered into the computer. If they weren't, any police agency outside of Michigan won't even know about them as they won't pop up on NCIC.

In the realistic world of police work, this case won't be high on the US Marshal's Fugitive Task Force's to-do list.
