Infantry Training Battalion
I was looking around the SOI website and I noticed not only is there ITB, there is also AITB (Advanced Infantry Training Battalion).
What exactly is AITB for? Is that something you may go through later on in the Marines, or something you do while at SOI after boot?
Thank you for your time.

Thank you Ma'am. I actually did look at those sites before I posted my question. So please bear with me. AITB is additional training later on after you have gone through regular ITB?
Or can you go through it after boot?

Aitb
I just transferred from there, I was an instructor there.
AITB has the following Companies and Classes
Recon: Basic Recon and Scout Sniper
Light Armor Vehicle Training Company: Light Armor Vehicle Training Basic, Leader, and Gunner courses
Infantry Unit Leaders Training Company:
- Infantry Unit Leaders Course (formerly Platoon Sergeant Course)
- Infantry Squad Leaders Course
- Infantry Machine Gun Leaders Course
- Infantry Mortar Leaders Course (where I was an instructor)
- Infantry Assaultman/Anti-tank missleman leaders course
- Martial Arts Instructors Course
Hope this helps clear your question up.
If you go infantry, you may get the opportunity to attend one of these great courses if you meet the requirements for each course. (for example a section/gun/squad leader for a mortar platoon)

Hey Slinger...not bad...just hanging out in Okinawa again...getting ready for a deployment to Afghanistan with CLB-4...looks like I'll be the security element Platoon Sergeant...
I don't mind being here, just feels like I'm slacking because I'm not back in a V unit...oh well...I go where the Lord leads.
