New, with a question
Good evening all,
I'm an Irishman of dual nationality (British/Irish) currently living in mainland UK. I come from a military family, having followed my parents around on deployment where I encountered Marines from a young age and have since dreamed of joining them in the Corps.
However, being a Foreign National, this presents its own set of problems and for lack of a better option on the table, I'm currently in the process of enlisting in the British Army. My question is this; does prior service in a foreign military bar an applicant from entering the Marines at a later date, assuming all other requirements (e.g. Green Card, High School Diploma/GED, age and fitness) are met?
Thanks in advance,
Calju

No, it may make you lose your citizenship in your home country but it shouldn't bar you at all. Knew a guy who used to be in the German Army that's not in the US Army.
