I have done lots of research on special operations groups. I understand that a lot of Navy SEAL, Special Forces, and MSOT's training overlaps. But they each seem to specialize in something or have a primary mission.

For example Navy SEALs put more of an emphasis on direct action missions. Special Forces puts more emphasis on working with and training foreign militias. Both can do reconnaissance, direct action, foreign internal defense, etc, but SEALs do more DA and Special Forces does more FID.

What do MSOT's "specialize" in? Would it be reconnaissance since Recon Marines are the main pipeline into MARSOC? Also how much combat do they see?

Please respond in detail. Thanks in advance.
