MOS 6216 in reserves
Greeting Marines,
Thank all of you for your service. I'm currently seeing a recruiter about enlisting in the reserves. I've been told by a friend who is a Marine that as a reserve I can choose my own MOS, granted I have the qualifying scores and the slots are open. I took the ASVAB a couple of years ago and I scored a 95 and recently I took the mini ASVAB at the recruiter's office that they used to screen recruits and I scored an 88.
I would like to enlist as an 6216 Fixed Wing Maintenance Tech because I have an interest in jets and it seems like a job I would like to carry as a civilian. I've researched the MOS and it says that I would maintain KC-130's. After time can I train to work on other aircraft such as Osprey's and Hornets? What is a typical deployment like for this MOS?
Thanks for taking the time out to respond to this question.
