PLC in conjunction with the GI Bill...

    Hello,

I go to a state school, and wish to attend PLC next summer and the summer thereafter.

I have read that the USMC will give you around $5,000 in loan money after your first PLC training and every summer after so long as you commission. If you do not, then you have to pay that money back.

My question is, after I commission, will I have to pay those loans back, or will the GI bill cover it, as well as the other debt I would have taken on by then.

Every time I read something about the GI bill, it always concerns enlisted using it after they serve; however, is a little different.

I intend on asking my OSO, but because my phone is broke, we relay info via e-mail, which is getting tedious. I thought I'd ask around here as well.

Thanks in advance for the replies!

I came in before the USMC started doing the student loan payments. But to the best of my knowledge that has ceased. And I don't think you can use the GI Bill to cover student loan payments; just additional education.

I could be wrong, so keep checking and asking -- especially your OSO.
