Marine tattos
i was wanting to know if it would be considered disrespectful in anyway to get a tattoo on my upper arm that says Semper fidelis. but im not a marine and i want to get it to show that i know the hardships that you all go through but i guess im doing it to honor them if that would suffice as a reseanable explanation for me getting it. but i know that i dont trully know what you all go through and probably never will so please tell me your opinion on it?

If that phrase didn't mean what it did to the Marine Corps it would not be disrespectful. But just about everyone associates those words with the Corps and will assume you are a Marine because of it. When you have to explain that you are not a Marine with that tattoo that is when it becomes questionable, even worse if you do something that a Marine would not and that tattoo is seen.
If you were asking me personally if you should get it I would say no.

Sgt. Lep:
Suppose maybe you could make one thread out of all the tatoo threads. There must be at least 50 different questions on tatoos, in the last 6 months.

i mean i want it to honor what the marines do for our country and to honor the brotherhood within their units but i want it mostly because off what you all go through while doing what you do best even though i wont really know the hardships the marines face unless i experience it firsthand

Dear Mr Search.
In my humble opinion Sir, I would scrub the whole Tattoo idea and instead take the money you would be spending on it and Donate it to the Wounded Warrior Fund or perhaps another organization that helps Veterans.
It's not that I am against tattoos having 67 of them myself.
Thank you for being a Marine Friend.

your only 16 and you want a tattoo commemorating the Marine Corps?....wait a few years, see if actually joining may be right for you, and then decide on a tattoo from there

If you do decide to join, and you have a Semper Fi tattoo, I feel bad for what you'll go through at bootcamp
