Sniper (written by Gary Biles USMC)
Under the cover of the terrain
The weather a light misty rain
A Marine sniper and his spotter
Are in hiding
The fate of an enemy
They are deciding
The Marines are patient
As they lay in wait
Watching this enemy
Whose heart is full of hate
This enemy has no feelings
Or any remorse
Killing Americans
Is his only course
The spotter whispers
In a voice barely heard
Target is located at 800 yards
The wind is 15 mph blowing
From the right
The sniper simply nods
As he adjusts his sights
He looks through his scope
His target is soon accquired
The enemy doesn't know it
But he is about to be retired
The sniper knows
That his shot must be true
ONE SHOT! ONE KILL!
No other exceptions will do
He exhales slowly
As he steadies his aim
Not even knowing
His targets name
For a split second
He stops and hesitates
Pondering the life
He's about to take
Then with the squeeze
Of the trigger
It's now too late
The feelings inside
Are hard to relate
The pair watches their target
Crumble to the ground
Knowing what the bullet
Had found
It was a shot
Straight through the heart
A Marine sniper and spotter
Just doing their part
