... and Billy and Fist, etal, still say a silent thanks to the 34's and 46's.
To the rest of the *******s that want simply to atone for THEIR ****, they can go **** themselves.
Like I have said before, 'too little, too late'!!!
I'm sure that most of you who served remember that in RVN this song was our creed almost. At every USO event they sang it, with the guys using their own rendition; and I'm positive you remember that also. If you've seen this before, watch again......

Any Marines who served in any wars should have a tribute to them regardless.
My uncle that I never met, Cpl. Leroy Brantley, was KIA while serving and leading his men.
One of my biggest inspirations for enlisting in the Corps. I'd like to talk to some Nam Vets about him and find out how we was really like. Someday it will happen.

NOT SILENT! Fistfu, who I can attest, was one fighting mutha fvcker, Russ, Captain Kirk, and myself, wouldnt be here today. If it wasnt for Docs and our Airwing. I can say this. Those who bash other MOSs, never had to do without them. It damn sure shows a lack of experience.

I too, was lucky enough to go to stack arms, once. Steaks and beer and the surf at China beach, volleyball and back alley, all the while being guarded by other grunts, it was great. Of course, returning to the bush, c-rats and nasty water and constant humping, patrols and ambushes with a heavy dose of high heat and humidity, leaches, snakes and mosquitoes brought you quickly back to reality. If that didn't, the constant exposure to booby traps and incoming and the frequent contact and fire-fights always made me aware of how we grunts had little to look forward to except R & R and rotating back to the world, hopefully in one piece.

Doesn't mean anything to me - when i came home in 74 - some of the people I graduated with from high school - called me a warmonger and baby killer - I refuse to attend reunions or talk to them. The VFW didn't want me to join ( they want me to join now only because they need the dues). My kids honor me every year on the Marine Corp birthday - They are what means anything to me. I say they can keep their resolution

Hi all yo touru Vietnam vets,
I was a Royal Marines commando serving with 40 commando 3 brigade out in Malaysia..1965-67 and went up to Hong Kong where we met some of your lads off of U.S.S.Kittyhawk. What a great day we had with them. We were given a "conducted" tour of the carrier which made our's look like like a wee ferry..!!
They were in Hong Kong for R&R whilst we were up there keeping an eye on the local commies.
I can only say how much I admire you lot for what you have endured thro' the years.

Mr. boonestan68
Please don't take your anger out on a lowly bootneck who, like you, was only following orders.
In the Great Scheme of Life it's not the likes of me (or you) who decides foreign policy..... blame the UK Government of the Day...f*****g socialists if my memory serves me right.
ps. No Guilt Felt
Cheers

yertis14,
First, thank you for your kind words.
My Dad always had a special love for the Royal Marines, possibly because he served with some in the Korean War at a place called the Chosin Resevoir. We also lived in Wembley, Middlesex, England for three years in the early 60's and the Americans played the British in Ruby and became good mates.
Also, in my opinion, the next post after yours is responding to the thread title, not to you. I'm sure everyone here that is a Marine or veteran of the Viet-Nam War regards your service and your opinions as stated here with high regard.
