Change RE-Code

I was assigned an RE-3P. Now that the physical disability has been corrected, how do I go about requesting a change in the RE-Code?

I was also informed by an OSO that only RE-1's were being accepted at this time. Is this true?

Were you separated with severance or were you put on TDRL?

Correct, you won't get back in with an RE-3P. Also, it is my understanding that the only time RE codes are corrected is when they were issued 'in error'. Meaning it won't be changed.

I don't believe you'll be able to re-enlist in the USMC. However, you may be able to look into the Guard, or the active army, and if you have a successful tour, with an honorable discharge, that will give you the RE-1A code you need....to reenlist into the USMC.

This is about the only way you can get back to the Corps, with this RE code.

If you were put out on TDRL and they have found you fit for duty again then your RE code will be changed in order to allow you to reenlist.
