Which MOS to pick?

Hello everybody, Just wanted some feedback from you. I am planning to enter the reserves and there are a couple of jobs in my area, Combat Engineer, Recon, intel, and Landing support specialist. my question was, which one would be a good pick? All of them sound really great opportunities, but i'd like to hear about personal exp about certain jobs.

Also that brings me to the second part of my question, how does ECP work? i am almost done with school and i'd like to have the option open to be an officer after i'm done with school.

I was a Combat Engineer, and loved it. However, that's a really hard question to answer. A lot of people can recommend an MOS for you, but you may be completely miserable with what someone else loved. I would sit down and figure out what you really want to do, and go from there. Do you want to sit behind a desk, or do you want to get out in the field and get dirty?

Combat Engineer was my MOS. I loved it. You get to go to Engineer school to learn to make Explosives, bombs, play with Land mines and BLOW STUFF UP! You also get to build bridges and search for mines. Combat Engineer is a support position so you have the opportunity to get attached to a Recon unit, grunt unit, be in an Engineer unit. If your ready for adventure everyday, then "Engineers Up"!

Yeah, I'm split btwn Combat Engineer and Recon. Combat Engineer sounds really fun, but I dont know how recon would work for the reserves. Would I have to go to 0311 first then switch to 0324?

I'm pretty sure that's how it works. You have to have your primary MOS, which would be 0311, then try to go recon.

cool thanks guys. It just kind of confused me because when i was at the recruiting office, there were jobs for rifleman and recon, so I was just wondering how that worked.
