Marine Tatoo American Flag/USMC Flag
Years ago, about 16, after getting discharged, I decided on tattooing on my shoulder blade some artwork done by a Marine in my unit. It has an Eagles head with the USMC emblem below flanked by American flag an Marine Corps flag. Does anyone know if it matters how the flags appear, one closer to the heart then the other?
I plan on getting some more work done on it and want the flags to be right!

If you wear a lapel pin it is displayed on the left lapel closest to the heart.
I would think a tattoo would be the same way.

I thought so. The tatto parlor that did the original preliminary work got it backwards after I told them different. Amateurs! I plan to try and get it fixed today if I can find a good parlour. Thanks Devil Dog!

According to the flag manual:
As you are looking at the two flags, the national color should always be on its own right. So, left if you are looking at them straight-on.

I think the American Flag on the Right, my left is correct. That is how it is. unfortunately it's on my left shoulder and Old Glory is outboard. Should have researched more 16 years ago. Got it redone yesturday. It looks great.
