Wanna be EOD, any advice on how to get there?

my ultimate goal is to work with explosives, but i have learned that you must be a corporal in order to even be eligible. do you guys have any advice on what i should do specifically in order to get there? anything i should study? btw i'm a woman, but in better shape than most of the guys i know, if that makes any difference anything would be greatly appriciated

Just pick an MOS you think you will enjoy in the meantime. Ideally one that doesn't have too lengthy of a school and which isn't exceptionally slow-promoting.
Do well in it, get extremely physically fit, make your superiors aware of your ambition, get promoted, and talk to your career planner regarding a lat move into EOD once you meet the prerequisites.

it is an old post but in case u read this I was the 2nd female in eod in 1997. judy ellis was my mentor and she was the first female in eod. from my understanding willoughby was the 4th any ideas on the third.
