yes you can lat move to the 03 field. There was a post on here not to long ago about a Cpl going to SOI and a buddy of mine (sgt) went through SOI about 6 months ago.

im at camp lejeune, honestly you can wear flip flops and your shirt untucked no one will really bother you unless you try to go into the px/commisary etc...if your going to mct or another entry level...

over here on camp johnson all our troop handlers are 03's that are about to get out, our entry levels students really enjoy getting more combat training, ie going on patrol's, clearing the squad bays...

white is for SNCO's during the summer, the only way to wear them as a junior Marine is to be issued them and even then you can only wear them at command functions
