i served for eight years myself and i never cared what people thought.... being in the service wasn't very popular back then and so what.... i was just another jarhead. we didn't have all of the flag...

i have no idea what boot is like nowadays... all i know is that you can't smoke or cuss anymore....

full metal jacket was so real to me in regards to boot camp. first time i saw it i got chills.

after it rained...we'ed have to run down to the rose garden and they'd thrash us.
