Interesting thread. I was in Vietnam from September 1966 to April 1968 and moved from Danang to Chu Lai and back to Danang. I was with VMFA 314, VMFA 115, and VMCJ1.

If I recall correctly, it was $78 a month when I entered boot camp in September 1965. In Vietnam cigarettes were 11 cents a pack. I could afford to smoke back then. Glad I don't anymore.
